We respond 24-hours a day through 911 Dispatch - For Emergencies Call 911 - Wellman Ambulance Regional Area of Coverage Wellman Ambulance is responsible for providing emergency response to approximately a 40+ square mile district area, which equates to serving 2300 households (approximately 5600 people). In addition, approximately 8500+ people travel the transportation system within our emergency response district on a daily basis. Within the emergency response district are a high school and two elementary schools totalling a population of approximately 900+ students and faculty. We are also a community situated within the "Tornado Alley" region of Iowa. Our EMS personnel continuously plan and review best practices for responding to the emergency needs within our regional area of coverage to provide the best possible response times and emergency care.
